Three suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the operative of the local vigilante group in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The operation that led to the arrest of the suspects were said to carried out as part of efforts to neutralise kidnappers’ hideout terrorizing Osara, Aku, Irepeni, Irapana, along Okene-Lokoja highway.
According to the statement, the hunters apprehended the suspects after spending some hours in the bush in searching for the kidnappers terrorizing the areas.
Three suspected kidnappers said to be arrested while some of their gang reportedly escaped with bullets wounds during the confrontation.
The incident reportedly happened at around 8pm at Aku Farm Centre community in Adavi LGA when the suspected kidnappers came to the highway to carry out their mischievous act but they were intercepted by the local hunters who were still on duty at that particular period which later led to the destruction of their hideouts in the bush.
The arrested suspects include; Abubakar Sadiq, Abdullahi Muhammed and Muhammadu Kabiru all said to be from Nasarawa state.
One of them has reportedly confessed on their mode of operation, the nature of sophisticated weapons they use, and the names of other gang members.
The statement added that the suspects have been handed over to the appropriate authority for further investigation.
Commending the hunters, Adavi Council chairman, Joseph Omuya, commended the local hunters for their relentless efforts and determination in discharging their duties urged every resident particularly those residing in the farm areas to be security-conscious and provide useful information to the appropriate quarters in case they suspect any suspicious moves or see strange faces.
