Kwara state governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazq says his administration will continue to place priority on youth empowerment and infrastructural development to enable the state attain enviable height.
AbdulRazq stated this while speaking at a town hall meeting held in Oro, Irepodun local government area of the state.
The Governor touted the achievements of his administration, acknowledged the support of the people, and pledged to work on various requests of the communities.
“We are gathered today to assess where we are coming from, where we are, and where we are going. You can judge this government by what we have done, what we are doing, and a fair judgement can only be achieved when we compare the present with the past. This is a progressive government. We have done so much; we are going to do more in terms of investments, job creation; youth empowerment; and gender equity,” the Governor said.
He added that his administration has put in place measures to remove the state from being a civil service to a more economically viable state.
Stated that the state government will also scale up its investment in agriculture to support food production.
He, however urged the traditional institutions to continue to support the state government effort in the maintenance of law and order in their various domains.
In his address the Senator Representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Senator Lola Ashiru commended the traditional institution for support the state government development programmes.
“We have heard about and we have equally seen numerous achievements of His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Kwara South and I am very happy with this. I have to thank the Governor for his developmental strides. On behalf of all the traditional rulers in the entire Kwara South, we are very grateful to His Excellency,” according to the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu.
“May God continue to be with you. May God continue to make things easy for you. I want to plead with everyone to reward the Governor for his hard work and commitment.”
In his remark the Honourable member representing , Ifelodun,Isin ,Oke-Ero and Ekiti local government areas of Kwara state, Raheem Olawuyi commended the state government for ensuring even distribution of dividend of democracy to the nook and cranny of the state.
Speaking on behalf of traditional rulers the Chairman of Traditional rulers in Irepodun local government area of Kwara state, the Olupo of Ajase -Ipo, Oba Ismail Yahaya -Alebiosu appreciated the effort of the state government for bringing development closer to the people at the grass root.
