Ahead of the commencement of the trial census in the country, the National Population Commission (NPC) has solicited the support of the stakeholders in Iloffa communities in Oke-Ero local government area of Kwara state for hitch-free exercise in their domains.
Federal Commissioner of NPC in the state, AbdulRasaq Gidado, made the solicitation while addressing the Alofa of Iloffa HRM Oba Engr. Samuel Dada, alongside the other critical stakeholders in the community present at the palace today Wednesday.
The Federal Commissioner who was represented by the state Director, Mr Adebayo Saheed, appreciated the paramount ruler for always being supportive of the NPC workers in the community.
The NPC boss, further seeks the support of the people of the community to give maximum cooperation to the staff of the commission that will be visiting to ask questions and carry out the trial census activities in the communities.

In his remarks, the Paramount ruler of Iloffa town, welcome the NPC entourage and seized the occasion to pray for a former Director of the commission, Mr Bamidele, who he described as a great friend before his demise, appreciated the good work commission is doing and assured the visiting team that the community will provide adequate support for the functionaries during the exercise.
We could recall that the NPC had earlier informed the populace that a trial census would be carried out in selected areas in Nine local governments in the state, namely: Ilorin South, East, Asa, Oyun, Oke-Ero, Ekiti, Baruteen, Moro and Edu.

Iloffa, the headquarter of Oke-Ero local government, is one of the communities selected by NPC for the trial census, scheduled for 20th to 24th of July, this year.
The stakeholder’s meeting was attended by the traditional council members, representatives of religious leaders, market people and Fulanis in the communities.
