Unknown Person Cut Off Student Hand in Kwara

There was palpable tension in Patigi, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State yesterday, Monday 21st of June, 2021 when yet to be identified person reportedly cut off hand of a 7 years old student, Usman Abubakar in the town.

According to the statement by the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara Command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, stated that “Yesterday around 2203hrs, an unknown person has cut off the right hand of a student, identified as Usman Abubakar”

The victim reportedly said to be one of Alimanjiri students of Mallam Aliu Adamu School in Patigi.

According to the Victim, he said “one man came to the Town and lured him and two other Alimanjiris to enter a car with the assurances that he was taking them to a place to give them enough food to eat”

The suspect who is now at large with the part of the hand he cut, then drove into a bush and when he was struggling to cut his hand the other boys (the other two Alimanjiri ) escaped from the suspect.

“It was noticed that the Victim has considerably lost a lot of blood. Hence, an officer was instructed to lead the people who brought the Victim to Patigi General Hospital for prompt medical attention in order to safe his life. Presently, our officer is in the Hospital where the Victim is being attended to”

“Three other surveillance officers have also been directed to go to the scene of the incidence as described by the Victim”

“Efforts is also on going to alert or share the information with other security agencies in Patigi Local Government Area. So that the suspect could be apprehended” statement read.
