The Federal Government has awarded 15 state government for best performance in Routine immunization and COVID-19 vaccination.
The Secretary to the government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha presented the award to the recipients in Abuja.
The Executive Director National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NPHCDA Dr Faisal Shuaib explained that the states were selected based on their leadership role, awareness creation, human resources employment, accountability of funds and financial support.
Recipient states for best routine immunization performance:
Adamawa with 63% immunization coverage, Kaduna 58%, Ebonyi 90%, Benue 63%, Lagos and Edo.
COVID-19 vaccination coverage: Jigawa vaccinated 97% of its eligible population, Gombe 30%, Cross River 13%, Ogundoro 28%, Abia 14%, and Nasarawa 100%.
The most improved state in full COVID-19 vaccination went to Kano and Yobe state with 69% and 14% respectively.
At the end brand surveillance vehicles were given to the overall best states, Ebonyi and Nasarawa.(FRCN)
