Twenty years after the death of the first Oloriewe of Oro kingdom, Alhaji (Chief) Yesufu Adedoyin, the children of the deceased, on Tuesday 24 of November, organized a special public prayer in remembrance of the business guru and community servant.
The public prayer was held at the Ijomu Oro Town Square, Opposite Central Mosque, in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ijomu Oro Central Mosque, Alhaji Bashir Ibrahim Adewara and other Islamic scholars in Oro land and beyond.
In his sermon, Imam Adewara described the late Yesufu Adedoyin as an Icon who can not be forgotten not only by his children but all other people who benefited from his philanthropic gestures, most especially those he sponsored for western education who now doing well in life.
Extolling the charitable acts of the late Yesufu, Imam Bashir added that, he was a community servant per excellence with special interest in the future of the younger ones and this particular behaviour earned him the title of Oloriewe of Oro kingdom by the then Oloro of Oro, Oba Ajiboye Muletola.
Late Yesufu, was also identified to be one of the founders of Ansaru Islam schools in Nigeria and Magaji Adini of Ansaru Islam Worldwide during his life time.
Expressing appreciation on behalf of the children and the entire Oloriewe family to the people that graced the occasion and all well wishers, Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin, who is now the second and current Oloriewe of Oro kingdom and a political strategist with interest in progressive politics expressed unalloyed appreciation to everyone that identified with him on the occasion.
The remembrance prayer was graced by His Royal Highness, Oba AbdulRafiu Ajiboye Oyelaran, Oloro of Oro kingdom and other traditional leaders from Oro kigdom.
Among dignitaries that also graced the the remembrance prayer were a serving member of the Federal House of Representative, Hon. Raheem Ajuloopin, Commissioner for Social Development, Hon. Deborah Bosede Aremu, Honourable Commissioner for environment, Mrs Funke Oyedun, Members of Kwara state house of Assembly, Hon. Tayo Awodiji and AGF Salaudeen, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Yinka Aluko, Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor AbdulRazaq , Princess Folashade Babalola, former Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Mashood Mustapha who was represented by Hon.
