A grassroot political mobiliser in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hajia Jumai Ndama Lafiyami on Saturday, led scores of the All Progressive Congress (APC) members from four wards in Lafiagi Emirate to the People Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on the rationale behind the defection, Ndama Lafiyami, attributed the political movement to “lack of fair sharing of projects and other dividends of democracy among communities in Kwara”
The woman politician also cited the unending crisis in the ruling party in the state as well as failed electioneering campaign promises for the decision.
Have considered these reasons, she said members realised that there was no business for them to remain in a party that never kept to their promises.
Hajia Jumai further disclosed that they were made up of members from 58 groups across four wards in Lafiagi Emirate.
While receiving the new members, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Edu Local Government Area, Alhaji Abubakar Sode, urged them to pick up their party membership registration forms and massively get registered.
The PDP Chairman, however, charged them to safeguard their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and work assiduously for the success of the party come 2023.
