2023: SDP guber candidate, Lawal congratulates Emir of Ilorin on 27th coronation anniversary

The Kwara State gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in the 2023 election, Alhaji Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari on the 27th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of the Emirate.

Sulu-Gambari, a former Appeal Court Justice, officially mounted the throne of the iconic
Sheikh Alimi as the 11th Emir of Ilorin, on 11th November, 1995 when he was turbaned.

In a statement, Lawal saluted the exemplary leadership role of the First Class Traditional Ruler and Chairman, Kwara Council of Chiefs in ensuring peace in the Emirate and in the State as a whole.

He also prayed for peaceful coexistence of the people of the Emirate as well as long reign of His Royal Highness on the throne with sound health and absolute comfort to continue to lead his people.

According to the governorship candidate, “the Emir’s role as a lover of peace and builder of harmony among people in the Emirate and in the state as a whole is exemplary and commendable. I look forward to working with such a great mind and the great institution to sustain the culture of peace and harmony which Kwara is known for. The Emir is a man of great reputation that has transcended beyond the Emirate and the State.”

Alhaji Lawal also congratulated all sons, daughters and residents of Ilorin Emirate, associations and groups for witnessing this great occasion and urged them to cherish and sustain the legacy the peace during the occasion and beyond.
