2nd Year Anniversary: Kwara House of Assembly Discloses Number of Bills Passes, Other Achievements

Kwara State House of Assembly on Thursday during a special plenary session to celebrate two years in office as lawmakers disclosed that it has passed a total of 14 Bills.

The Speaker of the 9th legislature in the state, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu disclosed further that under the same years in review, House considered 29 Reports and 32 Motions with resolutions passed on them.

Danladi-Salihu said, the lawmakers have always ensured  that consideration and passage of all money Bills , especially, the appropriation Bills conformed with the yearnings of the people and as well meet international standard.

He added: “The House has also ensured that all Bills and other legislative functions affecting key sectors such as health, education, social security, youth employment and job creation, land and housing, commerce, women affairs, people with disability, child rights, and transport, etc. received the desired attention”

“Also, we did not leave provision of infrastructure solely in the hands of the Executive as we facilitated in our various constituencies, construction of classrooms and health facilities, sinking of boreholes, opening of rural roads etc., under the Grassroots Development Project, an initiative of the present administration in the State that commenced in 2020”

“All the projects under this initiative have been completed and delivered for the use of our people”

“I must admit that the feats recorded by this 9th Legislature in the last two years in office is as result of the dedication, loyalty and zeal of the management and staff of this Assembly under the Clerk”

“Today is indeed a historic day in the life of this 9th legislature in Kwara State. It is significant because it marks the completion of the first half and the beginning of another Legislative year” he said.
