NAPTIP launches platform to find missing children

National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons NAPTIP, in Collaboration with META has launched AMBER Alerts Platform to track and rescue missing and abducted children.

At the launch of the AMBER Alerts in Abuja, the Director General of NAPTIP Dr.Fatima Waziri-Azi, explained that the platform would help send a quick alert to some online platforms for investigations and tracking of missing persons.

Dr. Waziri-Azi, said the launch of the platform was apt considering rampant cases of missing, trafficking and abduction of children in the country.

The Director of Trust and Safety, META, Emily Vacher, pointed out that Technologies have been effective in tracking missing persons as well as locating crime places across the World.

Protecting children in Nigeria and Africa at large has been strengthened with the support of NAPTIP’, she said.

Some of the stakeholders at the launch suggested various ways to help address the menace of missing children in the country. (FRCN)
