2023 Census: NPC to engage 37,000 Ad-hoc staff in Kwara

Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC) Kwara State, Alhaji AbdulRazak Gidado has disclosed that the commission will engage nothing less than thirty-seven thousand (37,000) Kwarans to serve as Ad-hoc staff in the 2023 population and housing census.

The Commissioner, while addressing Journalists at the commission headquarter in Ilorin, Kwara State capital said the Commission has earlier launched the E-recruitment Portal for the members of the public to apply.

He explained that the commission, through its online recruitment process, requests applicants for facilitators, training centre administrators, monitoring and evaluation officers, data quality managers, supervisors, as well as enumerators.

He said that to ensure a fair, efficient and transparent recruitment selection process, the commission would constitute a local government area recruitment team that would comprise three persons.

“And to us in the commission, the qualities of staff that will perform the census activities are very important.

“Therefore, having good knowledge of the content of the census document, the technique and the organisation of the census process is key to the success of the 2023 population census.

“Every community in the state will have the opportunity to contribute to the Census workforce and make sure that people are adequately counted.

“The bulk of personnel for the 2023 census will accommodate at least 37,000 people from all communities in the state.

The Commissioner appreciates the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unprecedented support for the commission towards the successful conduct of the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

He, however, urges kwarans to come out en mass to register for the current recruitment exercise as the portal is open till 28 December 2022.

In his speech, Alhaji Sa’eed Adebayo, the director of NPC said the Process is ensuring to delivery of accurate reliable data to Nigerians.

He reiterate that the commission had officially launched an online E-recruitment portal on the 28th of October for the 2023 population and housing census.
