The University of Benin has announced the appointment of 38 new Professors and 43 Associate Professors across its various faculties, schools and institutes.
The Public Relations Officer of the university, Dr Benedicta Ehanire announced this on Saturday via a statement made available to newsmen in Benin.
Ehanire said the appointment followed a painstaking process, which was carried out by the Institution’s Appointments and Promotions Board
Officials of the Federal Ministry of Education, she said, were present at the ratification exercise as Federal Government Universities do not currently have Governing Councils.
The university’s spokesperson quoted the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Lilian Salami as urging the newly promoted staff members to justify the elevation with continued hard work.
“The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lilian Salami, who expressed satisfaction with the transparency of the exercise, urged the new Professors to continue to work hard and to justify the confidence reposed in them by the University,” said the Public Relations Officer.
