The University of Ilorin has announced the promotion of 16 of its senior academics to the rank of Professor.
According to a piece of information contained in the weekly bulletin of the university, signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs of the university, Kunle Akogun, on Monday, said their elevation, following the recommendations of the University Appointment and Promotion Committee (A&PC) and with the approval of the Minister of Education, Prof. TahirMamman, SAN, recognises their exceptional achievements in teaching, research, and community service.
A statement from the Office of the Registrar said that the 16 distinguished scholars were found to have excelled in the realms of teaching, research and community service.
The breakdown of the beneficiaries of the promotion exercise shows that three of the new Professors are produced by the Faculty of Clinical Sciences and they are Prof. John Kola Olarinoye, Prof. James Ayodele Ogunmodede, and Prof. Simeon Kayode Olubiyi.
The Faculty of Education produced Prof. AbdulrahmanSuyuti Omosidi, who teaches at the Department of Educational Management.
Two lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology were also elevated to the rank of Professor and they are Prof. Kamorudeen Olaniyi Yusuf and Prof. Habeeb AdewaleAjimotokan
The Faculty of Law produced four new Professors and they are Prof. Abdulrazaq Owolabi Abdulkadir, Prof. Mubarak TijaniAdekilekun, Prof. Azizat Omotoyosi Amoloye-Adebayo, and Prof. Ganiyat Mobolaji Olatokun.
The Faculty of Life Sciences produced three new professors. They are Prof. Adedoyin Igunnu, Prof. Musa Oyewole Salawu, and Prof. Toyin Olayemi Agbabiaka.
From the Faculty of Physical Sciences are Prof. WasiuOlarewaju Raji, Prof. Hussein Kehinde Okoro, and Prof. Amudat Lawal.
Recall that the University had recently announced the promotion of 40 senior academics to the rank of Professors.
