Ajia Condemns Murder of Hafsah Lawal, Calls for Justice, Community Policing

The President of Funab Group of Companies Limited, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has condemned, in very strong terms, the gruesome murder of a final year student of kwara state College of Education Ilorin Miss Hafsah Lawal in Ilorin, allegedly perpetrated by a self-acclaimed Alfa, Abdulrahman Bello, of the Isale-Koto area.

In a statement signed by his Director of Communications, Malam Abdulrahman Aliagan, Ajia expressed shock and sadness over the tragic incident, describing it as a heinous act that violates the values and morals of the Ilorin community. He extended heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, praying for Allah’s comfort during this difficult time.

Ajia praised the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the Kwara State Command, for their swift action in investigating the incident. He commended the police for their promptness in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the crime, underscoring the need for proactive security measures to safeguard lives and property.

Calling for justice, the Ilorin-born security expert emphasized the importance of ensuring that the culprit faces the full weight of the law. “Justice must be served to deter others from engaging in such criminal acts. No one should be allowed to perpetrate evil without facing the consequences of their actions,” Ajia said.

To the youth, Ajia urged them to avoid actions that could bring shame and disrepute to their families and the youth at large. He encouraged them to focus on meaningful and productive ventures that could positively contribute to their personal development and society as a whole.

Ajia also appealed to parents and guardians to play a more active role in the lives of their children and wards. He stressed the need for close monitoring and guidance to prevent the younger generation from falling prey to negative influences or engaging in harmful activities.
Further more , Ajia called on the state government to, as a matter of urgency, resuscitate the community policing security strategy where communities will be mandated to form the first layer of the security architecture in their communities to help fish out the bad eggs living amongst them and deter crimes and criminality. “It’s essential that every member of our society develops a sense of responsibility on security related issues so as to prevent all sorts of crimes and violence in our society.
The state house of assembly is hereby urged to urgently enact a stringent law that will make people liable for failure to be vigilant and or raise alarm over suspicious movements and activities within their communities. Also, owners of properties used for crimes should be made liable for any crime committed in and around their properties.”

In conclusion, Ajia reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security, and development in Kwara State and Nigeria. He called on all stakeholders to collaborate with our law enforcement agencies in ensuring that justice is served in the case of Miss Hafsah Lawal while praying for the repose of her soul.
