A middle age lone robber identified as Loni, on Sunday morning met his untimely death following a mob action in Ilesa.
Loni, according to an eye witness account, was apprehended by vigilant residents and passersby at ireti Ayo while trying to whisk away a motorcycle he allegedly snatched from an unsuspecting bikeman in the area in the late hours of Saturday.
Confirming the incident a police source at the Ayeso A’ divisional headquarters of the Nigeria police said the suspect whose body has been deposited at the morgue of the Wesley Guild Hospital Ilesa was a known unrepentant robber with many criminal records bothering on bike snatching.
Report indicates that the residents launched a manhunt for the lone robber after an intelligent gathering which revealed where he hid the motorcycle.
Loni was arrested when he came back to carry the bounty in an apartment where he hid it.(FRCN)
