APC North-Central Stakeholders charges Yahaya Bello to Drop his presidential ambition

Some stakeholders in All Progressives Congress, APC, from the North-Central region have asked Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, to drop his 2023 presidential ambition and support the zoning of the position to the South in the Spirit of equity and national unity.

The group known as North-Central Council of APC stressed that it would be fair in the spirit of one Nigeria to allow the southern part of the country to produce the next president come 2023, adding that conceding the presidential ticket of the party to the southern part of the country would enhance equity and political justice.

Addressing press conference on Thursday at the APC national secretariat, the group led by Dr. Kassim Muhammad, said the reason for their call was to ensure that the leadership of APC zone the post of the national chairman of the party to the North-Central.

Dr. Muhammad maintained that the reasons for their agitation stemmed from the fact that the North-Central remains the only zone left out of leadership positions in the North. He said;

Though governor Yahaya Bello who is from the North-central is yet to publicly declare his 2023 presidential ambition, his posters are already everywhere in the federal capital territory and Kogi state with many support groups daily mobilizing support and canvassing voters for his ambition.

Recall that the leadership of Kogi state house of assembly recently embarked on consultation moves to different states of the federation canvassing and mobilizing support for Bello’s presidential ambition.
