Six Police Officers confirms death in Bayelsa as result of drown during bye-election

The Nigeria Police Force, Bayelsa State Police Command was on Sunday 6 of December confirmed six of its officers death as result of boat capsized in Southern part of Ijaw in Bayelsa State when they were going for duty during the bye-election.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police force, Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat said the unfortunate incident happened on the eve of the Saturday Senatorial Bye-election holding in two senatorial zones of the state.

He, confirmed that the bodies of the six officers out of the eleven people that were on board have been recovered while the remaining five people were responding to treatment.

Bye-elections were held in 11 states across the country, covering six senatorial districts and nine state constituencies.
