FG Declares April 7 National Police Day

The Federal governor of Nigeria under the administration of President Bola Tinubu has declared April 7 as National Police Day.

This was disclosed by the Vice president Shettima on Monday night, in Abuja during the maiden award and commendations event organized by the police force.

Shettima delivering the President’s speech titled, “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force,” VP Shettima emphasized that despite Nigeria facing immense security challenges, the resilience of its citizens stems from the unwavering dedication of the police force.

He underscored his administration’s firm commitment to modernize and professionalize the Nigeria Police Force, aligning it with the nation’s values and aspirations.

 Among the extensive reforms implemented are investments in training and capacity-building, aimed at equipping officers with the necessary skills and expertise to tackle contemporary policing challenges effectively.

  Shettima also pledged government support in upgrading equipment and technology to bolster the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the force.
