Fountain University Immortalises Mutawali Ilorin, Alimi AbdulRazaq, 4 Others

The Mutawali of Ilorin and grand patron of Arewa Consultative Forum( ACF) in Kwara State, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq on Monday commissioned Alimi AbdulRazaq Academic ( Triple A) Building at Fountain University, Osogbo in Osun State.

The colourful event which coincided with the 14th convocation of the university also witnessed the commissioning of five transformative projects, donated by a group of philanthropists known as G 5 to the institution.

The donors of the projects are Alh. Yunus Olalekan Saliu, Alh Ayoku Liadi, Alh Sheriff Mojirola Yusuf, Dr. Foluke Kafayat Abdulrazaq and Alh Yinka Adeola.

In his opening remarks, the vice chancellor of Fountain University, Prof Olayinka Ramota Karim, commended Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq for his dedication to the advancement of education and leadership.

“First and foremost, allow me to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, the Mutawalli of Ilorin, and the esteemed chairman of this occasion. Sir, your presence here today underscores your unwavering dedication to the advancement of education and leadership.

” As you graciously commission the Alimi AbdulRazaq Academic (Triple A) Building for the College of Basic Medical and Health Sciences, which serves as a point of contact for four other transformative projects, we are reminded of the power of vision, generosity, and commitment to societal progress,” Karim stated.

She equally thanked the donors of the projects for their kind gesture, adding that:” These dynamic philanthropists, who share in the vision and values of Fountain University, have collectively donated five monumental buildings to our institution: The Olalekan Saliu Hostel (NASFAT 1),
the Nimot Liadi Hostel (NASFAT 2),
the Alimi Abdulrasaq Academic (Triple A) Building for the College of Basic Medical and Health Sciences, the Mojirola Yusuf Building for the College of Arts and Education, and the Adeola Hostel (NASFAT 3)

” On behalf of all stakeholders of Fountain University, I express our heartfelt appreciation to these remarkable individuals. Your extraordinary generosity transcends the mere construction of buildings; you have created enduring symbols of hope, progress, and belief in the transformative power of education. These projects stand as a testament to your vision to uplift countless students, offering them opportunities to grow academically, socially, and personally.

” These facilities will significantly enhance our academic and residential infrastructure, fostering an environment that promotes innovative learning, groundbreaking research, and holistic student development. By enriching the Fountain University experience, your contributions strengthen our commitment to producing well-rounded, competent, and responsible graduates.
We are profoundly grateful for your generosity and pray for Allah’s abundant blessings upon you and your households.”

For his part, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq praised the commitment of the donors to the advancement of education and development of Fountain University.

He expressed optimism that the commissioned building projects would be beneficial to the students and the Islamic society at large.

In her remarks, one of the donors, Dr. Foluke Kafayat Abdulrazaq, said she was delighted to be part of the legacy projects that would be beneficial to the entire youths and Islamic society.

Dr Kafayat urged Muslim women to remain committed to the promotion of human capital development and Islam at large.

She acknowledged the AbdulRazaq family and the governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their unwavering commitment to offering continued support for human capital development and youth empowerment, as well as encouraging people around them to do the same .

She thanked her husband, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq for remaining supportive at all times.

The senior adviser/ counsellor to Kwara State governor, Alh. Saadu Salahu, commended the donors of the projects, noting that the most rewarding investment is human capital development, particularly Islamic education.

He described the Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi Abdulrazaq, as a role model and exemplary leader.

Salahu praised Governor AbdulRazaq for his visionary leadership style which he noted has ensured that human capital development is given topmost priority in Kwara State.

He announced N5m donation in the name of Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq.

The chairman, Board of Trustees, Fountain University, Prof. Yusuf Ali(SAN) commended the donors of the projects for their kind gestures.

Some of the dignitaries that accompanied Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq to the event include the Ciroma of Ilorin, Prince Abubakar Bature Sulu-Gambari , a non-executive director, NNPCL, Dr Mohammed Ghali Alaaya, senior adviser and counselor, Alh Saadu Salahu, special adviser Media, Alh Bashir Adigun, senior special assistant on Religion (Islam), Alh Ibrahim Danmaigoro and special adviser, Party Affairs, Alh Mashood Alaka.

Others are the Danmasanin Ilorin, Engr Yahaya Alapasanpa, chairman, Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Alh AbdulLateef Alakawa, the Sate Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Alh Mustapha Isowo,
chairman, Alliance For Sustainable Kwara (ASK), Alh Razaq Lawal Lawal,
Alh Usman Bibire Ajape, Alh iliasu Alabi Iponrin, executive secretary, Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Nusirat Elelu, Hon.Adamu Sabi, Dr Funsho AbdulRazaq , Engr.Rahman Giwa, Engr Yunusa Afolabi, Engr Muhammed Gofe and Hon. Wahab Issa.
Also in the Mutawali’s entourage are Dr.Rabiat Shehu Jimoh Alabere and Dr.Saadat Yetunde Yusuf.
