GOBIR DONATES 20 MILLION NAIRA WORTH OF BUILDING MATERIALS AND CASH TO THE VICTIMS OF RAINSTORM IN ILORIN

Inspired by the generous donation of roofing sheets by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin – The Waziri Hausa and Chairman of the Gobir Organization Foundation, Waziri Yakubu Gobir has donated relief materials worth 20 Million Naira to families affected by Saturday night’s rainstorm in Ilorin.

Presentation of the materials which included bundles of roofing sheets, cement blocks, wood planks and cash was made to chairmen of various Community Development Associations in Ilorin for onward distribution to affected citizens.

Waziri Gobir who was represented by Hon. Ibrahim Abubakar said the destruction caused by the rainstorm saddened his heart and that only Allah can console the affected families.

Waziri urged the committee saddled with the distribution and renovation of the affected houses to expedite action. Families who are currently displaced due to the incident, need to be able to return back to their houses, as soon as possible.

Waziri Gobir expressed concern over the current living conditions of many families. He also called on the Federal Government, especially the National Emergency Management Agency to come to the aid of the people of Kwara State at this trying time.
