The Special Adviser on Strategy to Kwara State governor, Alh Saadu Salahu, on Saturday, delivered Ibagun ward in Ilorin East local government area to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship and House of Assembly elections.
The APC won with landslide in the governorship and House of Assembly elections, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trailing behind.
Salahu voted at the polling unit 001 GDSS Amule, Okelele amidst cheers from the people of the community in appreciation of his love for them.
APC polled 221 in the governorship election and 205 in the House of Assembly election in Salahu’s polling unit.
PDP came distant second with 86 votes in the governorship election and 94 votes in the House of Assembly elections while SDP came third with 12 votes in the governorship election and 15 votes in the House of Assembly election.
Salahu also delivered the polling units in his Ayegbami residence to the APC.
At the olling unit 030 Ayegbami, APC polled 81 votes in the governorship election and 64 votes in the House of Assembly elections while PDP scored 49 in the governorship election and 56 in the House of Assembly election. At the polling unit 031 Ayegbami, APC polled 61 in the governorship election and 53 in the House of Assembly election while PDP scored 35 in the governorship election and 30 in the House of Assembly election.
Overall results from Ibagun ward showed that the APC polled 5, 325 votes in the governorship election while PDP scored 2, 992 votes
Speaking with journalists after the announcement of the election results in Ibagun ward, Salahu expressed his gratitude to the people of Okelele and the entire people of Ibagun community for choosing Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as their preferred political leader and the APC as their preferred political party.
The Special Adviser on Strategy specifically thanked the women, youths, political leaders, community leaders, traditional rulers, decampees from PDP and YPP in Ibagun ward in particular and Ilorin East in general for their support and loyalty to Governor AbdulRazaq.
He said the outcome of the elections have shown that : “You don’t have to destroy others to earn your place in political leadership. This feat has also established a culture of politics without bitterness in Ibagun ward.”
Salahu added that: ” The re- election of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq will guarantee greater prosperity for Kwarans in Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s presidency given the contributions of the governor to the president- elect’s emergence as APC’s presidential candidate and his victory at the presidential poll.”
