The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for House of Representatives for Asa/Ilorin West Federal constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia has congratulated Hajia Muinat Bola Shagaya on the new title of Sarauniya of Illorin, conferred on her by His Royal Majesty, the Chairman, Council of Traditional rulers in Kwara State, and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari recently.
In his words, “As I am wishing her the best of luck in her new assignment to the emirate, I also charge her to see the new traditional title as a serious challenge.”
In a statement issued by the Director of Communications of Ajia Campaign Council, Malam AbdulRahman Aliagan in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, Hon. Ajia rejoiced with Hajia Shagaya and wished her every success as she takes on her new responsibilities to the Emirate.
According to Hon. Ajia. “Hajia Bola Shagaya is a popular international business tycoon, I therefore urge her to see the new title as a call to duty to use her wealth, influence and contacts within and outside the country to better the lot of the emirate and its people.
Ajia added that, “To whom much is given more than much is expected. The new title and the attendant responsibilities place a huge task on the shoulders of Hajia Shagaya to be a positive influence, role model and moral compass for the youth and especially the young girls who need proper mentorship to be successful in life.
“The growth and development of the emirate and its people should now be of immense concern to her.
The security expert cum entrepreneur said, “None of the illustrious sons and daughters of Ilorin emirate should feel comfortable until the story of the emirate is changed for the better in all ramifications.”
The candidate of Ilorin Asa/Ilorin-West Federal Constituency said, “I want to believe strongly that this new title will re-awakening Hajia Shagaya’s consciousness to see the reality on grounds and respond to them speedily.”
Ajia prayed to God to grant the Sarauniya the strength, good health and wisdom to make a good success of her new responsibilities.
Hajia Shagaya is one of Africa’s richest women, her investments spread across photography, real estate, oil and gas, as well as banking.
