Kwara Govt Approves Payment of Backlog of NG-CARES Social Transfer Program

Kwara State Government has approved the payments of the backlog stipends of the beneficiaries of phase one of the NG-CARES Social Transfer Program thus bringing to a close the first phase of the program. This phase was adjudged to be very impactful and well appreciated by the beneficiaries and their families.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Communication Officer of the agency, Yusuf Suleiman Abiodun, and made available to Accurate News Nigeria.

The statement reads “In a commendable move, the Kwara State government, led the Executive Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, has successfully approved the disbursement of four months stipends payments to 1,690 beneficiaries of the phase 1 NG-CARES Social Transfer Program. The phase 1 beneficiaries have thus been exited from the project to allow for expansion of the program to accommodate more vulnerable kwarans for the second phase which starts immediately.

“The NG-CARES (Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus) Social Transfer Program is implemented by the Kwara State government to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on its citizens. The program offered financial aid to vulnerable persons ensuring they have access to basic necessities and support during these challenging times.

“The Governor has demonstrated his commitment to improving the welfare of the people of the State through prompt resolution of the backlog payments for the NG-CARES Social Transfer Program.”
