Kwara State Government has approved the payments of the backlog stipends of the beneficiaries of phase one of the NG-CARES Social Transfer Program thus bringing to a close the first phase of the program. This phase was adjudged to be very impactful and well appreciated by the beneficiaries and their families.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Communication Officer of the agency, Yusuf Suleiman Abiodun, and made available to Accurate News Nigeria.
The statement reads “In a commendable move, the Kwara State government, led the Executive Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, has successfully approved the disbursement of four months stipends payments to 1,690 beneficiaries of the phase 1 NG-CARES Social Transfer Program. The phase 1 beneficiaries have thus been exited from the project to allow for expansion of the program to accommodate more vulnerable kwarans for the second phase which starts immediately.
“The NG-CARES (Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus) Social Transfer Program is implemented by the Kwara State government to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on its citizens.
