Kwara Govt Begins Enrollment of Fresh 6,613 Into Phase 2 of NG-CARES Social Transfer Program

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, has approved the enrollment of fresh 6,613 into Phase 2 of the NG-CARES, Social Transfer program.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Communication Officer of the Agency, Yusuf Suleiman Abiodun, and made available to Accurate News Nigeria.

The statement reads“Following the exit of the phase 1 beneficiaries after receiving payment for one year, the second phase is starting immediately. The process is facilitated by the NG-CARES Social Transfer office in Ilorin and aims at providing support to vulnerable individuals across four categories, namely the aged, chronically ill, persons living with disabilities, and the urban poor.

“The Executive Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, has demonstrated his commitment to improving the welfare of his citizens, especially those considered to be most vulnerable.

“The support of N10,000.00k (Ten thousand Naira ) monthly to be given to each of the beneficiaries for next one year will play a crucial role in improving their socio-economic challenges with a bid to
ensuring their access to essential resources and be financially included.

“The names of beneficiaries were selected from the existing Social Register (SR) of the state domiciled with the State Operation Coordinating Unit (SOCU).

“The enrollment process which is ongoing is expected to be done efficiently, with meticulous verification to ensure that only deserving individuals are enrolled as beneficiaries. Through this thorough assessment, the government aims to optimize the impact of the program and have a wider reach within the 16 LGAs of the state.”
