Kwara State Government on Thursday announced the increments in the bursary allowances to students of the state origin in Tertiary Institutions across the country from N5,000 to N10,000.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Tertiary Education Dr Alabi Afees Abolore, via a statement signed by the press secretary of the Ministry, Mansurat Amuda-Kannike.
The statement also noted that application for the bursary will open on Friday 4th November and close at midnight on November 11, 2022, through https://scholarship.kw.gov.ng/bursary.
The rise in bursary allowance comes barely one week after Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq approved free transport services for students returning for their studies in their various institutions across the country, following the end of the months-long industrial action by university lecturers.
The Commissioner however expressed appreciation to the Governor and assured students that the present administration would continue to prioritise their welfare and urged them to be good ambassadors of the state at their various institutions.
