The chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Kwara State, Kehinde Rotimi, has dismissed the rumours of the LP collapsing structure for another political party ahead of coming Saturday’s presidential election.
The party chairman made the rebuttal on Wednesday while speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the state capital said LP Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is still much in the race.
“our presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is in the race to win and restructure the country, he has been moving around the country to canvas for votes. He was in Offa, Kwara state two days ago and from there to Osun state.
“We remain intact as one indivisible entity and optimistic about our chance to emerge victorious in the forthcoming election”
“We urge Nigerians and electorate to ignore the rumour of Labour Party collapsing structure for another party or our presidential candidate stepping down for another candidate,” he said
The party chairman, however, warns against unauthorized information and said the party would take legal action against the person suspected of being behind the fake news of LP collapsing structure for another party.
Also speaking, the deputy governorship candidate of the party, Elizabeth Ronke Ehindero, thanked Kwarans for their steadfastness in the party and urged them to complete the job by voting for all the party candidates in the forthcoming elections.
