Kwara NUJ hosts Health Commissioner at 35th Media Parliament

All is set for the 35th media parliament of the Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) holding in Ilorin, the state capital on Thursday 22nd of December, 2022.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Razaq, has been designated as Guest Speaker at the forum, which holds at NUJ Press Centre, Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin at 10am.

Razaq, a renowned Public Health Specialist, is to speak on the theme “Kwara Health Sector: The Journey So Far”.

In a statement issued in Ilorin, the Chairman and Secretary, Kwara NUJ Media Parliament Committee, Fatima Rasheed and Babajide Fadeyi respectively, said the event would afford the guest speaker the ample opportunity to give accounts of the state government stewardship in the health sector.

The statement noted that the forum is in furtherance of the effort of the media to ensuring that government and public office holders are accountable to the people at all times.

It added that the parliament is also an avenue to bridge information gap between the government and the governed, especially on issues of public interest.

The statement urged members of the union to be punctual at the event.
