The rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed has praised the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq over the appointment of professionals as heads of the state owned media establishments.
Mohammed, in a statement signed by the polytechnic’s public relations officer, Hajia Halimat Garba, described the appointment of Mr. Ayobami Akanbi, Mr. Tajudeen Aremu and Mr. Yomi Adeboye as general managers of Kwara Television Service, Radio Kwara and The Herald Newspaper as the right step in the right direction.
He noted that the appointment of Mr. Ayobami Akanbi, a former director, News and Current Affairs Department, KWTV and retired director of Information Services at the state Ministry of Communication is a reward for his passion for professionalism, honesty, hard work and dedication to duties.
The rector also noted that the re-appointment of Aremu and Adeboye, who had served in the same capacities before also demonstrated the governor’s passion for putting round pegs in round holes.
Mohammed who wished the media chiefs a successful tenure, said that the polytechnic will strive to ensure that the good working relationship between it and the media outfits is sustained.
He also urged the media chiefs to put in their best to justify the confidence reposed in them.
