KWSG Lauds Over Evacuation of Refuse In School Premises

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been lauded for his proactiveness in ensuring that school environment are in tidy condition.

The recommendation is at the expense of evacuation of the refuse deposited at the front and inside Government High School, Adeta, Ilorin premises by unknown persons.

The commendation was given by Hajia Kubrat Kehinde Issa, while reacting to indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the school.

She lamented that the school premises had turned into refuse dumping site by some residents of the area, which deformed the beauty of the school despite the huge amount of money spent on the school by the state government.

She condemned the filthy attitude of some people towards the school, commending the governor for his tireless efforts in bringing back the glory of the school.

Kehinde Issa commended the governor’s proactiveness in making sure that standards of education is ensured, noting that the governor is also touching all sectors of the state.

The old student further frowned at the non-challant behaviour of some people towards the government property, adding that any one caught violating the environmental rules and regulations would be arrested and handed over to the police for prosecution in the court of law.

She further said that the school is a legacy left behind by the proprietor, Alhaji AGF AbdulRasaq for the benefit of future generations of the country that must be protected and taken care off.

Kehinde who is a member of the 1984 set, advised the government to place more emphasis on sensitisation programme on proper refuse management, stressing that the security of the school should also be beefed up to prevent intruders.

Kehinde Issa appealed to the government not to rest on its oars to create a conducive learning environment by providing learning equipment for teachers across the state.

She called on the state government to provide more refuse bins for dumping of industrial, commercial and domestic waste to avoid an epidemic outbreak in Ilorin and other major towns in the state.

“I charge the school authorities to be more vigilant on the school facilities provided by both the old students association and the government,” she stressed.
