A Legal Luminary, Professor Yusuf Ola Olu-Ali has attributed the plethora of challenges plaguing the Nation to lack sacrifice of citizens.
Professor Ola Olu-Ali who is a Professor of Practice in Law, at Federal University Oye Ekiti dropped this hint while hosting journalists in Kwara State on Iftar at his residence
He described the attitudinal deficit of Nigerians as responsible for the arbitrary inflation of foodstuff and other essential commodities in the Country
The Legal Icon counselled Nigerians to emulate citizens of the United Arab Emirate and the United States of America who usually ensure a fifty percent reduction in prices of food, goods, and services particularly during festivities to demonstrate solidarity with their fellow compatriots
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria frowned over astronomical increase in prices of goods and services and charged business operators to refrain from indiscriminate hikes of prices under the disguise of dollar rise against naira to insulate them from God’s punishment
Professor Ola Olu-Ali therefore cautioned journalists against popularization of negative news and encouraged them to imbibe the spirit of developmental media theory to boost the image of the Nigeria.
In his remarks, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kwara State Council, Mallam Abdul-lateef Lanre Ahmed applauded Professor Yusuf Ola Olu-Ali for institutionalizing the Iftar to an annual event with journalists in the State and pledged the support of Journalists with the Legal Luminary in his quest for a better Nation
