Makama Condemns Violent Attack on Party Stalwarts, Calls on Security to Fish-out Perpetrators

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Tajudeen Abdulkadir Audu, the Makama of Lafiagi who is also a governorship aspirant in the 2019 general election in Kwara State has condemned the violent attack on the party stalwarts at the venue of stakeholders meeting in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area on Monday.

Two All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in the 2019 general election in Kwara State, Alhaji Tajudeen Abdulkadir Audu Makama and Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi, together with some Kwara North leaders were on Monday attacked by thugs during the party’s stakeholders meeting at Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area.

The two governorship aspirants from Kwara North, Alhaji Tajudeen Abdulkadir Audu and Alhaji S.Yaman Abdullahi, together with APC stakeholders, Alhaji MT Mamman and Umaru Shaaba were attacked and their vehicles vandalized by the thugs. The well coordianted attack, according to an eyewitness, was allegedly at the behest of some aides to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The incident, according to sources, was a fallout of a rift between Governor AbdulRazaq political camp and a group of party leaders led by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

The two camps have been having bouts of accusations and counter-accusations for some months now over the control of the party in the state.

While addressing newsmen, Alhaji Tajudeen Abdulkadir Audu, the Makama of Lafiagi vehemently condemned the despicable act and called on the Governor to live up to his responsibility of securing the lives and property of Kwarans, irrespective of political affiliations. He demanded that the perpetrators be fished out and brought to book”

He further stressed that “Kwara state is known as the state of Harmony and not rancor or barbarism”
