Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has called on Lagos State to obey the court order which sacked the committee it instituted to replace RTEAN and take over its offices.

Lagos State sacked RTEAN and replaced it with a parks management committee. But an April 18 judgment by National Industrial Court nullified the action and dissolved the committee.

It also held that RTEAN had the right to operate in the state.

The court restrained the governor, the attorney-general and special assistant on Transport, from interfering with RTEAN executive committee.

It restrained the commissioner of Police from using his men to stop RTEAN from performing its duties and to withdraw policemen from  RTEAN offices.

A statement by state Acting Chairman of RTEAN, Aransiola Qudus, said: “We call on Lagos State to do the needful and direct its agents  occupying our offices, loading and offloading points, to vacate. We are law abiding and will work with the government for the interest of Lagos State, as well as our members.

“We appeal to the government to adhere to the ruling of April 18, and handover our secretariat to us…” (Nation)
