Nigerian singer, Portable, has been honoured with a chieftaincy title of ‘Chief Amuludun’ of Tigbo Awori land, Ogun State.
The title of ‘Amuludun’, a Yoruba phrase that translates to ‘one who makes a community happy’ was conferred on the ‘ZaZoo Zeh’ singer by the Onitigbo of Tigbo-ilu Land.
Despite mummers from fans on why he was given this honour, the Onitigbo of Tigbo-ilu Land, Olabode Thomas-Fagbayi, said the singer “presented himself as a responsible person”.
“His mum is from Tigbo, and he too lives here; he presented himself as a responsible person, and we take him as that. Some people might have reservations about him, but even at that, he is our son.”
The monarch also debunked claims that he was paid to confer said chieftaincy title on the singer.
