Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been commended for his tremendous support to the development of youth through sports, and for the provision of the needed atmosphere for growing the system.
In a release by SWAN, and signed by its Secretary, Olayinka Owolewa, the sports writing body described the Governor as a trailblazer, for opening a new vista for sports in the state through the upgrading and construction of new facilities, as well as support for sports participation.
The body equally thank and congratulate the new Pillar of Sports in the state, Sir (Prince) Oladimeji Ladi Thompson and his entire family for their support.
SWAN also commended the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, the Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Kumbi Titiloye, the Chairman of Kwara FA and his Vice, Messrs Idris Abdullahi Musa and Bashorun Kayode Bankole, the Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba AbdulGaniyu Ajibola Ibrahim MFR, Olusookun II, and the Olukotun of Ikotun-Ile, His Royal Highness, Oba (Dr) AbdulRazaq Adebayo Abioye, for their support.
SWAN praised sports stakeholders in the state for making the Award Night worthwhile, even as it pledged to continue to support the cause of making the industry and the major players great in the state and beyond.
The body commended partners and sponsors of the Award Night, who include Henry George Hotels Limited, WUMCCA Buttered Bread and Table Water, Kwara Football Academy, Golden Mother Petroleum, Ilorin, Hassan Energy Services Limited, Shugaba Media Consult, Konami Prints, Pro-Games Sports Promotion, Joy Sports and Gym Stores Limited, and MKJ Filling Station, Ilorin.
Others are Kwara United Football Club, Jason and Jethro Engineering Company Limited, Peacock Guests Villa, Oke Aanu Area, Ogbomosho, Platinum Friends Club and Ikotun-Ile Dynamic Group (Home and in the Diaspora).

SWAN commended and congratulated all the awardees, for adding value to sports development, and also charged them and others, to take full advantage of the atmosphere of competition created by SWAN with the recognition.
The association also commended members for their support so far and used the opportunity to wish them merry Christmas and prosperous new year ahead.
