The Chairman of Edu/Patigi Progressive Association in the Federal Capital, Abuja, Ahmed Mohammed Dakaya, has declared that he would be seeking public office in the forthcoming 2023 general elections because of his passion for human and community development.
Dakaya made this declaration while speaking with this medium on politics, and his aspiration to seek public office in 2023.
The grassroots politician, who hailed from Shonga in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State is vying for the Edu/Moro/Patigi federal constituency seat at the House of Representatives under the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The House of Representatives aspirant pledged to priotise education, human capital and community development as top agenda if elected.
A graduate of Kaduna Polytechnic and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna state, Dakaya has been thriving in the private sector for decades.
Assessing the performance of the present administration, he said the party has done tremendously well in terms of provision of infrastructure and human capital development, saying President Muhammadu Buhari is, of course, doing everything possible to bring the issue of insecurity to bearable level.
He said he was sure Buhari would ensure that he arrest the menace before the end of his administration.
He, however, sought for the support of all and sundry for the government to achieve this, saying all needed to know the role to play because security is everyone business”
Responding to question on forthcoming party national convention and infighting in the party, Dakaya, said “Well, I believe is because our party the APC is being built on Democratic culture and practice. There is room for every interest to be heard but that of majority will always have their way, of course, it is normal to disagree and agree and that is exactly what is going on currently in our party.
‘You can be rest assured that we will put our house in order immediately after the convention when elected party’s chairman emerged. We will definitely not go into elections without resolving every issue as it affects our party.”
Dakaya, a community development advocate, chairman Shonga Emirate Youth Development Association, National Auditor Shonga Emirate Youth Development Association, said he present himself to serve people of his federal constituency due to his passion for human and community development.
“By the special grace of Almighty Allah, I present myself to serve my people of Edu/ Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency because of my convincing interest in human and community development coupled with lofty ideas that can bring rapid development in my constituency, senatorial district and Kwara state as a whole”
