The newly appointed Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.- Gen Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed, has taken over the leadership of the scheme.
Taking over from the Acting Director General, Mrs Christy Uba, Monday in Abuja, Dogara rolled out a five-point policy thrust for the scheme.
According to him, improving security, welfare of corps members and staff to engender optimal service delivery to the nation and providing enabling environment for research and development advancement of the Scheme are part of his policy thrust.
He said he will strengthens stakeholders’ engagement for the promotion of the frontiers of the Scheme; enhance capacity building to stimulate efficiency and higher corporate performance; while deepening the impact of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme.
He therefore pleaded for the support of the staff, promising that he will run an open administration.
Handing over to the DG, Mrs. Uba, assured of the management cooperation.
“May I also use this opportunity to assure you that the management team and the entire Staff will give you all the necessary cooperation to enable you succeed. We are conscious of the tasking nature of the NYSC operations. However, our experiences, loyalty and love for the job will always be brought to bear in surmounting challenges as well as ensuring success in all undertakings.
“It is my prayer that the Almighty God guides and protects you as you step in for this important national assignment,” she said. (Blueprint)
