A Federal House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Ahmed Dakaya on Wednesday officially joined Young Progressive Party (YPP) to realise his political ambition.
Dakaya, a former aspirant for Edu/Patigi and Moro federal constituency of Kwara State on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) decamped from the ruling party along with his political followers at his Shonga home in Edu Local Government.
Speaking, Dakaya said the need to improve the socio-economic well-being of the people and bring development to the area informed his decision to vie for the seat.
“I left APC in response to the failure of the ruling party to choose credibility over incompetence and ineptitude.
“I want to bring development, progress and economic prosperity which the people of Edu/Patigi and Moro have been yearning for all these years,” he said.
Dakaya, however, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the YPP, for giving him soft landing, calling on the good people of the constituency, senatorial district and Kwara as a whole to join YPP to revolutionize through balloting.
“We must vote out the bad governance; those that mismanaged our resources for a good four years shouldn’t make our choices come 2023. We can’t as well entrust our mandate in hand of result forger and those making living through shady deals”
The occasion was graced by Hon. Danjuma A. Mohammed Lafiagi, an aspirant vying for KWHA in Edu constituency together with his counterparts from Patigi and Moro LGA,
Comrade Mohammed Suleiman Dudu, state deputy Chairman, the party state working committee.
Comrade Yahaya Umar, Edu LGA party Chairman and his colleagues from Patigi and Moro were equally present, as well as LG and Ward excos, and numerous party members
