The Convener, New Nigeria Movement (NNM), Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, has hailed the choice of the new Olu of Warri in Delta State, HRH Ogiame Atuwatse III, expressing optimism that his emergence would foster peace and rapid development in his kingdom and the state at large.

Ajia stated that the new traditional ruler, being a dynamic young man, will deploy his wealth of experience and connection cutting across the country for the common good of his subjects the Itsekiri kingdom.

In a congratulatory message he personally signed and issued, the NNM convener noted that the emergence and installation of the 21st Olu of Warri coincided with the clamour of the movement to have energetic and vibrant young people taking charge of business of governance at all levels across the country.

Ajia said his group was particularly elated that the crowning of Ogiame Atuwatse III held last Saturday attested to the wider acceptability of his choice to lead the people of Itsekiri kingdom at this time that is characterized by the sustained call for generational change in leadership.

The NNM convener, who is also a former gubernatorial aspirant in Kwara State, said the new Olu of Warri would join the league of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, who he added, has continued to use his youthful age to build bridges and preach gospel of unity among the citizenry.

It would be recalled that the new Olu of Warri, with the title Ogiame Atuwatse III, was crowned last Saturday at a colorful coronation ceremony at Ode Itsekiri, ancestral home of Itsekiri nation in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The NNM convener said the young people of the country are proud of the feat of the new monarch and prayed for his peaceful reign on the ancient throne.

Ajia’s statement partly read, “We are congratulating him, his kingdom and Delta State as a whole for having the young man as the new Olu of Warri. We are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that his emergence as Olu of Warri would bring peace and rapid development to the kingdom in particular and Delta State at large.

“Specifically, we are happy that we have another new young king, who would join the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, who is also one of our symbols. Oba Ogunwusi has been going round, building bridges across Nigeria and preaching gospel of unity. We are also delighted that the installation of the new Olu of Warri and attendant outpouring of congratulatory wishes showed that he enjoys wider acceptability and love of his subjects.

“The young people are happy and proud of him. And we will continue until we take over all sectors for a better Nigeria. Congratulations, our king. Long live, Olu of Warri. Long live, federal republic of Nigeria”.
