SWAN Commends Gov. AbdulRazaq For Sports Development In Kwara

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kwara State has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for firmly driving sports development and business in the state.

SWAN observed this on account of recent exploits of Kwara athletes nationally, at the 13th African Games recently and with the massive investments in the sporting sector in the State.

The Chairman of Kwara SWAN, Ayodeji Ismail said, “The Governor has not neglected the place of media in sports business and development.

“The State Governor has extended hands of fellowship in coverage of sports, even encouraging journalists willing to cover International Championships”.

SWAN also commended the Governor for his support to the association especially in provision of Sallah/ Ramadan gift to sports writing family in the state.

The SWAN chairman called on critical stakeholders not to relent in supporting the Sports Commission in its bid to change the narrative in sports development in Kwara.

The Governor recently approved a total upgrade of the Indoor sports hall at the cost of N2 billion, Sports is the fourth sector commanding highest budgetary allocation in Kwara.

Kwara also currently leads in Squash in all tournaments so far on account of support from the state government.

SWAN also used the medium to commend the former Kwara United chairman, Alhaji Haruna Maigidansanma and other stakeholders for their support to the sport writers guild.
